ITB Nigeria Ltd, innovative construction company providing full and advanced integrated engineering and construction solutions in both private and public sectors sponsored four engineers to attend the 27th COREN Engineering Assembly held in Abuja recently.
This is part of the Company’s CSR activities aimed at contributing to the growth of the Nigerian construction and engineering sector and enhancing the skills of engineers.
This year’s COREN Engineering Assembly which was themed, “The Nigerian Built Industry: Building a Sustainable Structure with Allied Professionals” dealt with the crucial issues of the role of engineering in development for the ever expanding demographics in Nigeria. Problems besetting the Industry as well as ways to move the practice of the profession forward were addressed.
On ITB Nigeria’s sponsorship of the five engineers, Quality Assurance/ Quality Control Manager, Engineer Emmanuel Adeyemi said, “At ITB Nigeria, it is our culture to give our workforce optimal training that boosts their career and the quality of our work. More so, we recognize the difference that well-trained engineers bring to a project and we are committed to continuously training our engineers to excel on their jobs. We are confident that Nigeria’s engineering and construction Industry will experience massive growth with the presence of well-trained engineers”.
COREN Engineering Assembly is a yearly event, with participants ranging from engineers, to technologists, technicians, artisans and other stakeholders. The event is considered the biggest gathering of engineering professionals in Nigeria. It played host to many dignitaries and influential people, most notably, the President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari.
This year, COREN was announced as a member of the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP). The implication being that Nigerian engineering qualifications certified by COREN will now be recognized in 48 member economies including Australia, Malaysia, Pakistan, China among others.
